QUIT SMOKING

If you really want to Stop Smoking, I can help you to achieve this goal and generally this can be achieved with one easy hypnotherapy session. The Program itself involves one pre-session for information gathering and one post-session for embedding and future orienting  –  all three sessions are essential to the success of the program.

During our first session we talk. Habits, motives and triggers and past attempts (if any) are discussed, and the following hypnosis session is tailored around this information and your specific needs and circumstances. You will have some homework to do too!

The second session is your QUIT SMOKING HYPNOSIS! The post-session is when we review your week, discuss any issues that may have arisen, and create an achievable plan for you to take into the future as a non-smoker! All three sessions are an essential aspect of the program, and your commitment to attending these is vital.

This is not about doing a set program, a set way, with set scripts. It is about getting right into what has been stopping you from quitting up till now, and sorting that out. It’s about getting it right for you.

So….... If you really are ready,  let’s do it!

CHRONIC PAIN

Living with pain can be an exhausting and distressing experience and when you’re in pain it can be really hard to stay focused on what is happening now. We tend to worry about how things might be in the future or how they have been in the past, which can be nerve wracking. The more worried and distressed we become, the worse the pain is, and with very little sense of control this can be a pretty debilitating place to be.

Training in relaxation, through hypnosis is all about helping you to minimise all those negative aspects around these emotions of the experience of pain and enabling you to have some times when relief can be achieved. The ability to deeply relax can be learned very easily and practiced in conjunction with mindfulness can be a powerful tool.

Learning new ways to manage pain through the mind-body connection can not only offer you physical relief, it can also help in giving you back a sense of control to be in a position to create a more positive outlook for your future.

DEPRESSION & ANXIETY

Depression

“Everything we hear is an opinion not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective not a truth”

Dr. Michael Yapko MD

Everyone faces difficult times and occasions: why then, doesn’t everyone become depressed?

Are there specific skills that can be developed that will protect you from depression and even help prevent future episodes? Yes there are. By learning how to break the patterns of depression with new skills and perspectives you can learn to:

  • Manage difficult situations

  • Solve problems effectively

  • Anticipate the likely consequences of your actions

  • Thinks and act in a powerful, goal orientated fashion

  • Balance different areas of your life

  • Use your self-knowledge to stay out of hurtful situations

By learning how to recognize your triggers for depression, and then clarifying how you feel about them can be enormously helpful in you controlling your depression NOT it controlling you!

You don’t have to take this journey alone.

Anxiety

Everyone suffers from anxiety at times. It’s natural, and it’s even healthy, however overwhelming or completely debilitating anxiety in situations where most people would feel comfortable and relaxed is quite different and can cause a major impact on the quality of your life and those around you.

Hypnosis deals with the unconscious part of your mind, the place where your automatic functions and reactions are controlled. Having probably already tried to consciously overcome your anxiety, you will have noticed that no matter how much you want to stop these feelings, your automatic reaction remains the same.

This is where Hypnosis can be of help. Through developing the skill of relaxation, and working at the subconscious level, we can adjust your unhelpful feelings and behaviours so that you can again get enjoyment back into your life.

PHOBIAS & FEARS

Phobias are not un-common, it’s just that they don’t always cause huge distress or significantly disrupt your life. For example, if you have a fear of flying, it may cause no problems for you if you are not likely to travel anywhere requiring a plane trip, but if you are required to fly as part of your job, or have family living in far off places, or have a strong desire to travel and explore the world then it would pose a significant problem.

If your phobia doesn’t really impact your life that much, it’s probably nothing to be concerned about. But ~ if avoidance of the object, activity, or situation that triggers your phobia interferes with your normal functioning or keeps you from doing things you would otherwise enjoy, it’s time to seek help.

Understanding your phobia is the first step to overcoming it.  It doesn’t mean you’re crazy! Phobias are highly treatable, and therapy for phobias has a great track record. Not only does it work extremely well, but you tend to see results very quickly—sometimes in as a little as 2-4 sessions.

You can overcome your anxiety and fear, no matter how out of control it feels. Treatment for your phobia is recommended if:

  • It causes intense and disabling fear, anxiety, and panic.

  • You recognize that your fear is excessive and unreasonable.

  • You stop going places or avoid certain situations because of your phobia.

  • Your avoidance interferes with your normal routine or causes significant distress.

  • You’ve had the phobia for at least six months.

  • Self-help methods have not worked.

ADDICTION

In most cases, an addiction typically starts with experimental use, or ‘flutter’ and progresses, over time, into a need to use regularly - even at the expense of health and safety. It doesn’t happen overnight, and generally there’s a path from experimentation to abuse and then, in some people, to addiction. If you’re on this path then getting help to step off that road as soon as you recognize a possible problem is an important step towards recovery.

It can be extremely difficult to admit to a possible problem – and even harder for you to recognize that you are addicted. Here are some of the most common signs of addiction:

  • Change in friends and hangouts

  • Changes in mood, motivation, attitude

  • Absenteeism at work or school

  • Increased need for cash

  • Bloodshot eyes or enlarged pupils

  • Sudden weight changes (gain or loss)

  • Secretive behaviours; lying

  • Tremors in the hands

  • Ignoring once-loved activities

If you can relate closely to any of the above, it’s worth reaching out to your doctor or a counsellor for a chat about what you can do and what professional services are available to help you and what types of treatment that are right for you.

WEIGHT LOSS

The focus with this weight loss program is on working towards changing habitual thinking and behaviour so that what you learn becomes a lifestyle rather than just another diet. Our work together is focused on how to enable change through self-empowering you to take back control.

Weight loss on this program is sustainable and ongoing when the behavioural modification techniques, which you learn and are reinforced with hypnotherapy, are practiced and maintained. This is not a diet. It is a sustainable improved change in life style.

Four sessions are the basis for this program, with the first being a pre-session chat for information gathering and discussion. The following two sessions involve Hypnosis and discussion, whilst the forth session is focused on future goal setting and orientation and a little ’tweaking’ – if required. Sometimes monthly maintenance sessions can be incorporated into the plan, and that’s entirely up to you, but can be of great benefit.

Imagine not just looking better, but really feeling better about yourself and your choices. It’s pretty exciting stuff! It only takes one step in the right direction to be on that path towards your goal.
